SMFA Network Accounts

Each student is assigned an SMFA network account once the School receives their admissions reply form and tuition deposit. Network accounts provide you with a personal e-mail address and enable you to use the School’s Mac Lab computers and equipment, to store files on the server, and to access certain applications.

Students will regularly receive important e-mails regarding deadlines, upcoming events, and other topics of interest. Network accounts are an important way for students to access information and technology. You may use your SMFA network account to access any computer in the Mac Lab.

YOUR NETWORK PASSWORD

- You have one password for your network account. You will be prompted to use this password when logging in to your e-mail account and when logging on to computers in the Mac Lab.

- Students with new network accounts will be issued a numerical password. You may change your password by clicking the options icon in your e-mail account or simply by asking a monitor in the Mac Lab to reset your password for you.

TIPS FOR ACCESSING YOUR E-MAIL

- Visit https://school.smfa.edu to log in to your e-mail account.

- Your login or username is a combination of the first letter of your first name and your last name. For example, BRoss. This criteria may change in certain cases if the student's last name is hyphenated or unique in some way.

- Your e-mail address is your username@fpx.smfa.edu or username@student.smfa.edu, whichever you prefer to use. For example, BRoss@fpx.smfa.edu or BRoss@student.smfa.edu.

- For more information about your network account or details on accessing your e-mail, please download Tips for Maintaining your Account. For further questions or concerns, contact Nicole (nseisler@smfa.edu) in Student Affairs.
