Artist's Resource Center

An artist’s career is a living thing—it needs care and attention. The Artist’s Resource Center (ARC) is a unique resource offering career advising, job links, internships, professional-focus courses, and community-partnership opportunities through the new Institute for Art and Civic Engagement. What’s more, the ARC is available to you even after you graduate.

Here’s some of what you’ll find at the ARC:

Career Advising. We offer one-on-one sessions to help you plot your career in the arts, learn more about you and your career goals, help you identify your skills, write resumes, and refine your ability to project the voice of a professional artist. More…

artSource, an online index of current and upcoming arts-related employment, internships, grants, residencies, exhibitions, public art commissions, and community resources.

Internships for Studio Credit. You’ll find a wide range of opportunities in all professional areas, from arts administration to new media and technology. The ARC offers extensive preparation, support and guidance throughout your internship. More about internships …

Dynamic Courses. The ARC offers for-credit courses that focus on the most current professional practices in both the public and private realm. Recent course offerings include Artist Realities, Survival and Business Skills for Artists, Internships, and Public Art/Public Action. More…

Community Partnerships. The new Institute for Art and Civic Engagement at the Artist’s Resource Center offers opportunities for you to partner, to intern, and to work in many arts-related fields, integrating those experiences into your studio arts curriculum. Through special courses and civic engagement, you’ll have access to arts and cultural communities and the world of business. More …

Reference Materials. ARC houses a wealth of information pertaining to all aspects of the professional artist’s career. The ARC’s literature racks abound with handouts, web directories, and in-house publications. Or you may access our virtual library, a collection of hundreds of bookmarked web sites pertaining to career development, opportunities, critical needs, open studios, arts advocacy and general research.
