Off-Campus Work-Study Positions

Off-campus work study positions consist of jobs available outside of the SMFA and the MFA community. Jobs are added and removed from this list throughout the school year, so please check back often or stop by Financial Aid to inquire. If you find a position that is not listed, please contact Shaun Thomas in the Financial Aid Office to find out if it can be made into a work-study position.

Please note: Work-study positions are announced on each student's Financial Aid Award Letter. All work-study and payroll forms must be complete and handed into the Financial Aid Office prior to starting work.

Job details:

Students are needed to assist with our therapeutic After School Program at the Frederick Pilot School. We serve 60 sixth through eightth grade "at risk" students from 3–6 pm, Monday through Friday and from 12–3 pm on Saturdays.

The program consists of Homework Help, Tutoring, Snack and Enrichment Activities.  Activities include Basketball, Drama, Music, Cooking, Art, Double Dutch Jump Rope, Science, and Soccer, among others.

We are seeking employees who are excited about working with young people and who can be a positive role model to out students.  They will be assisting our Activity Leaders with taking attendance, serving snack, helping with homework, and providing activities.

Our school has 99% students of color (mostly Black and Hispanic), 95% free or reduced lunch, which is an indication of low income status.  The students in our After School Program have been referred by their teachers, social workers and academy leaders because they need extra help academically, emotionally, and/or socially.
