"The subjects of my paintings range among the sarcophagus at
Chernobyl, abandoned East German
housing, unused factories and industrial architecture, radioactive landscapes,
self portraits, and lost soldiers. I paint these places and events because I
find something beautiful and difficult about them (like half-forgotten
memories). I am interested in how the image can be transformed through the act
