BFA Students
A maximum of seven academic courses may be transferred into the BFA program. Coursework may be completed both before and after matriculation into the program. Pre-approval is required for transfer work completed while enrolled in the program. Click here to view additional specifications regarding academic transfers.

Studio courses completed prior to admission are transferred on a course-by-course basis. A maximum of 42 studio credits may be transferred. Contact the Registrar's Office for more information.

BFA in Art Education Students

Combined-Degree Students
All transfer credits of combined-degree students are processed by Tufts University. Contact the Student Services Center at Tufts for more information.

MFA Students
No studio courses may be transferred into the MFA program from other institutions.  Tufts restricts the number of academic courses eligible for transfer to the MFA to one graduate-level course. This transfer must be approved by the Museum School’s Academic Affairs Office and by the Executive Committee of the Graduate School.
