Alumna Nan Goldin receives the 2007 Hasselblad Award
March 9, 2007

Calling alumna Nan Goldin (Diploma, 1977; Fifth Year Certificate, 1978) “one of the most significant photographers of our time," the Hasselblad Foundation has awarded her the 2007 Hasselblad Foundation International Award in Photography.

For more than 25 years, the Hasselblad Award has been granted annually to a photographer “recognized for major achievements.” Previous Hasselblad Award winners include Ansel Adams (1981), Henri Cartier-Bresson (1982), Richard Avedon (1991), William Eggleston (1998), Cindy Sherman (1999), among other notable photographers.

Goldin is represented by the Matthew Marks Gallery, where "Nan Goldin: 1972–74" and "The Other Side," a slide presentation, remain on view through April 14, 2007.
