SMFA Text and Image Arts faculty member Jesseca Ferguson is included in The Image Wrought: Historical Photographic Approaches in the Digital Age at the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin through August 6. The exhibition examines the seeming paradox of contemporary photographers embracing archaic photographic practices in today's "digital age” by comparing present contemporary images alongside vintage examples of their 19th-century predecessors. Ferguson’s piece, a pinhole cyanotype with collage titled “Lider ohne Worte,” is paired with a cyanotype by 19th-century British photographer Anna Atkins.
