The Exhibitions office has announced the recipients of the 2006 Traveling Scholarship Awards:

Mathew Clay Freeman, In Our Hands, 2005. Mixed-media installation. Size variable.

Elizabeth H. Wallace, By Shear, 2006. Mixed media. 4 x 4 feet.

Traveling Scholarships are awarded annually, based on a juried competition. Awards consist of scholarship funds to be spent on travel for the development of individual artistic goals and study, and an exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. The “SMFA Traveling Scholars” exhibition featuring the work of these award winners will be on view at the Museum in spring 2008.

Selection was made by Salem Mekuria, Judith Tannenbaum, and Randal Thurston.

Congratulations to the winners!
