With the grand opening of Boston’s new Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) on December 10, work by Sheila Gallagher (MFA '96) and Rachel Perry Welty (FY '01, Dip '99) will be on view in an exhibition honoring the finalists for the 2006 James and Audrey Foster Prize. Gallagher and Welty are two of the four finalists for the Foster Prize (formerly known as the ICA Artist Prize), which recognizes Boston artists whose work demonstrates adventurousness, conceptual strength, and skillful execution.

The winner of the $25,000 biennial prize will be announced in February, and the exhibition will remain on view through March 11, 2007. The four finalists include Gallagher, Jane D. Marsching, Kelly Sherman, and Welty.
