| Biography |
| Sophia Ainslie (painting, Studio at Tufts) received a BFA from University of South Africa ('91), and MFA from SMFA/Tufts ('01). Recent exhibitions include Hall-Space, Boston ('04) and Kingston Gallery, Boston ('03). Ainslie was associate curator of Decade of Democracy: Witnessing South Africa ('04), a major exhibition of South African contemporary art held at the Museum of the National Center of Afro- American Artists. Additional exhibitions at Space 240, San Francisco; Association for Visual Arts, Cape Town, South Africa; Zakithi Art Gallery, Pretoria, South Africa; and Gasworks Gallery, London. She has taught at the Johannesburg Art Foundation and the South African National Gallery. |
