| Biography |
| Art Education. University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Ed.D in Language, Literacy and Culture ('05). Research interests include: the intersection of postmodernism and multiculturalism in art education, the arts in urban education and the role of visual culture in art teacher preparation. Recent recipient of National Multicultural Educator Award from National Association for Multicultural Education for efforts in curriculum reform in art education. Has published and lectured on retheorizing identity and curriculum, critical art pedagogy based in public schools, redefining multicultural education and human rights curriculum. Years of experience as an activist public school art teacher and teacher educator inform Patty Bode's art making, research and teaching. |
