A Harvard graduate and successfully multi-tasking owner of a small
technology business, Reese Inman (Diploma '04, Fifth Year '05) wasn’t sure what she was getting into
when she joined the Diploma (now Studio) Program. But she had opinions: “I didn’t know
what I wanted to do. At the same time, I didn’t want to be told.”
She painted, and then she took drawing, printmaking, and sculpture.
These other disciplines had an unusual impact. “They made me rethink
what art is, what painting is, and what I was doing here,” she says. “And
what came out of that was a return to painting, but in a very different way.” While her paintings reflect, in part, her old life surviving
“information overload,” she is living a new life, infused with art,
enhanced by classical piano, and graced with her first solo show, just as
she graduates from the Diploma Program and prepares to enter the Fifth
Year Certificate Program.
