How many blocks do I need to take as a full time student?
Full-time students take 68 blocks for the 14 full-time credits. If you take fewer than six blocks you are in danger of not receiving full credit at your Review Board. Additionally, if you receive financial aid, you are in danger of losing your financial aid since you are not taking a full course load for the money you were rewarded.

Do I have to stay in Boston for the whole Review Board period?
Yes. Classes do not meet during this time, but students are expected to continue working during the Review Board period. Students also must be available for the whole period in order to fulfill their required reviewing time. Plan vacations and plane tickets around the date given as the end of the Review Board period in the academic calendar.

Can I take only one block of a two block course?
No. Unfortunately, two block classes cannot be broken up into one block classes. The reasoning is that if you are a full time student having a Review Board you are expected to show work for all blocks. If you were not attending one of your blocks and did not do work for it you may not have enough work to get full credit. Part time students cannot split courses because the billing charges for two block courses are set and cannot be prorated.

Why is my registration time so much later than my friends' times?
This means your friends have earned more studio credits than you have earned. Registration times are assigned according to how many studio credits you have earned in prior semesters. Each student is put into a bracket according to their studio credits so they are registering with others who have similar credits.

Can I have a copy of my immunization form to send to another school?
Unfortunately we do not make copies of immunization forms to give out to students. Please contact your doctor's office for your medical records.

How many Independent Studio Blocks can I take as a full time student?
You may take two independent studies as a full-time student. Just be sure that you are producing two blocks worth of work (approximately six hours per week) to show at your Review Board. Please note: Part-time students are not eligible for independent studies.

Do I need a teacher's signature to sign up for an Independent Studio Block?
Yes. You will need area representative to sign Independent Studio Block. The area rep. will assign a teacher for the Independent Studio course. You need to contact the area representative for each area program.

Can I have my teachers' phone numbers and/or e-mail addresses?
If they allow us to give out their information, then yes. Some teachers request that their information is not released. If you need to contact a teacher and we cannot release their information you can always put a note in their mailbox. Faculty mailboxes are located on the second floor in the B building across from student mailboxes.

How do I make an appointment with my advisor?
Contact the Academic Affairs office for all advising inquiries. Their office is located on the second floor in the office area (past the business office, at the end of the hall). Their phone number is 617-369-3619.

I am a CE student but want to take a day class. Which office do I sign up with?
You sign up through the Continuing Education office. Contact CE for further information (617-369-3644). Note: CE students taking day classes pay day school rates. Contact the Business office (617-369-3632) for the day school rates per class.
