"SMFA Traveling Scholars," on view April 10May 31, 2010 in the Foster Gallery, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, showcases work by the 2008 Traveling Scholarship Award recipients. The five prize-winning artists were selected from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston's (SMFA), intense, all-studio Fifth Year Certificate Program (Lizi Brown and Wendy Jean Hyde) and from alumni submissions (Liz Cohen, Michael Bühler-Rose and Christopher Lamberg-Karlovsky ).

Patty Bode Named Higher Education Art Educator of the Year Monday, February 1, 2010
Congratulations to Patty Bode, who was just named Eastern Region Higher Education Art Educator for 2010 by the National Art Education Association (NAEA). The award presentations will take place at the NAEA Convention in Baltimore on April 15. Patty was also named 2010 Higher Education Massachusetts Art Educator of the Year by the Massachusetts Art Education Association.

Two Alumni among the ICA's Foster Prize Finalists Wednesday, January 27, 2010
Congratulations to Daniela Rivera (MFA '06) and Evelyn Rydz MFA '05) who are among the nine finalists for the 2010 James and Audrey Foster Prize, the Institute of Contemporary Art's biennial award and exhibition program for Boston-area artists. Finalists will participate in an exhibition at the ICA September 22January 30, 2011. The winner of the prize will be announced in January 2011.

Alumnus Omer Fast Winner of 2009 Nationalgalerie Prize Tuesday, September 22, 2009
Congratulations to alumnus Omer Fast (CD '95) who was recently named winner of the Nationalgalerie Prize for Young Art, which recognizes a rising artist based in Germany. Established in 2000 by the Verein der Freunde der Nationalgalerie (Friends of the National Gallery), the prize was created in response to the emergence of a new, young arts and cultural scene in Berlin. With a prize of 50,000, it is one of the most generous awards for contemporary art in Germany.

DeCordova Announces Inaugural Biennial Saturday, August 1, 2009
The DeCordova Sculpture Park + Museum recently announced the inaugural DeCordova Biennial.
