Threadbare by Sarah Peck (2009, 6 min.).
Polyglot Telephone by Valeria Lopez (HD video, 2010). This video project explores the discrepancy of language translation. It investigates the way meaning is transformed through changes in syntactical structure that occur during language translation and the role of the interpreter as a human conduit of meaning. Language is a logos or logic which imposes itself on us but which lives only by us and is modified and transformed by us.
A Dismal Tropic by Yin-Chen Huang (HD video and Super 8 film, 2010, 20 min.). This is an anthropological documentary that examines the origins of the sexual desire of a homosexual couple who explore sexual experiences from their childhood. The film poses the questions: what is the focus of an anthropological documentary? How has homosexual identification been recorded? What does it mean to document in an anthropological way since the more important issues happen in our daily life?
In Between by Allison Maria Rodriguez (16 mm, 2009, 20 min.). Exploring notions of violence, loss, sexual repression, and identity formation in the subjectivity of a young woman, In Between utilizes a highly stylized method of storytelling to complicate dominating dichotomies of art film/genre film, fantasy/reality, internal/external and self/other.
Protector by Shen Shen Luo (Animation, 2010, 5 min.). A story about a ghost fox.
