SUBMIT IMAGES FOR SCHOOL PUBLICATIONS BY JANUARY 25

Communications/Marketing office is looking for images for publications and materials (printed and online), the Web site Gallery and for other marketing/PR purposes.

We are looking for work in all media created during summer or fall 2009 (up to three images per student).

How to Submit
-Complete a permission form (pick one up in B028 or at the front guard desk) authorizing the Marketing/Communications office to use and reproduce the images you submit.

-Save your image(s) at the size of at least 5x7 inches at 300 dpi in its correct orientation. *TIFF or JPEG only*

-Name your file(s) with correct credit line including: Your name. Title. Date created. Medium. Dimensions.

-E-mail images with proper credit line to marketing@smfa.edu with subject line "Call for Work" OR submit a CD of image(s).

-Drop off release form (and CD, if necessary) in the Marketing/Web/PR staff mailbox on the 2nd floor OR bring it to the Communications office, B028.

Ongoing - "EXTINCT!...Endangered Species and Habitats"

Brush Art Gallery & Studios (Lowell, MA)

On view January 17–February 21, 2010, "EXTINCT!...Endangered Species and Habitats" is a multi media exhibition of work by SMFA artists exploring endangered species and their shrinking habitats. The show is co-curated by faculty member Erica H. Adams and MFA candidate John Guy Petruzzi at the Brush Art Gallery & Studios in Lowell.

January 22 - Youth Producing Change: Film screening and reception

Admission is free for SMFA students with the presentation of valid student ID.*

Young people are on the frontlines of many of the world's human rights crises, but it's all too rare that we get to hear their perspectives. The second edition of Youth Producing Change shares 10 powerful stories from young filmmakers across the globe as they turn a camera on their own lives and share their visions of change.

January 22, 7 pm (film program run time: 72 min. Discussion with filmmakers to follow).

Dana Pond Award for Painting is open to all students, including part-time and Continuing Education. Students may submit up to three works. Winning works are selected by an outside jury and are automatically included in the "2010 Student Annual Exhibition."

SBInc. is a student-comprised, student-run group. Its mission is to work toward the unification of the student body through clubs, groups, and events. Any student can propose an event, club, or group. SBInc. will collectively discuss and decide on approval and funding. If you have an idea on how to make SMFA more fun, SBInc. is your place!

Some SBInc. sponsored clubs and events in the past include: B.A.R.F (Bikes are Really Fun), SMFA Rhinotones, the Society for Urban Exploration, SMFA Recycling, HFC (Horror Film Club), All School Lunches, Thanksgiving Potluck.
