February 1 - "Student Annual Exhibition" Pick Up

February 1 - ProArts Connect Launch

All Day

Launch of ProArts Connect: Online resource for all SMFA students, faculty, staff and alumni to connect with their colleagues across the ProArts schools.

Visit www.proartsconnect.org to register with your smfa email address.

Search and post for housing, events, stuff and collaborations.

February 1 - Student Orientation Leader Applications Available

Student Affairs is looking for students who are interested in assisting with New Student Orientation for fall 2010. If you are friendly, outgoing and have a genuine interest in helping new students adjust to life at the SMFA, then this is the job for you! Benefits include: stipend, free food, good times and early pre-registration for courses.
Applications and additional information are available for pick up in the Student Affairs Office. Applications are due by Thursday, February 25.

SBInc. is a student-comprised, student-run group. Its mission is to work toward the unification of the student body through clubs, groups, and events. Any student can propose an event, club, or group. SBInc. will collectively discuss and decide on approval and funding. If you have an idea on how to make SMFA more fun, SBInc. is your place!

Student Voice is an open forum for all students to talk about issues pertaining to their life at SMFA. Determined by current pressing concerns, students are invited to openly discuss and develop solutions to specific topics, often inviting guest speakers, experts, and administrative insight.

Visiting International Performance Artist Melati Suryodarmo will present a performance as part of her visit to the Performance Area. The performance will be preceded by a screening of documentation of previous works of Melati Suryodarmo.

February 19 - Optional Practical Training (OPT) Information Session for International Students

This session is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about the Optional Practical Training Benefit for F-1 visa holders. The International Student Adviser will explain what OPT is and go over the application process.

February 26 - New York City Bus Trip

All Day

$10—pay when you sign up in Student Affairs (cash or check only)

NYC Bus trips are open to all members of the SMFA community. Bus departs from SMFA at 7 a.m. and arrives at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (5th Ave + 82nd) in NYC around 11:30 am. You are free to explore the city (maps are supplied) until 7 pm when the bus departs from in front of the Met.

Visiting International Performance Artist Myriam Laplante will present a performance at Mobius as part of her visit to the Performance Area. The performance will be preceded by a screening of documentation of previous works of Myriam Laplante.

Admission with Student ID is FREE.
