Grossman Gallery & Anderson Auditorium
On view February 11March 3, the "Student Annual Exhibition" presents the largest annual overview of current work by students of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. It is based on a competitive selection of works chosen from approximately 200 entries by a jury of arts professionals unaffiliated with the Museum School.
The Student Annual jury also selects the recipients of the Stella and Sumner Cooper Award (for work in metals, glass and ceramics) and the Will and Elena Barnet Award (for work that "embodies the formal elements of painting and composition and the principles of structural design").
Also included in the Annual are winning works by the recipients of the prestigious Dana Pond Award in painting, the Boit Award (for work created last summer independently of classroom assignments) and the Yousuf Karsh Prize in photography, each chosen by independent juries.
The Student Annual Exhibition celebrates artists who are on the threshold of their field with exciting anticipation of their creative futures.
