Visiting Artist Lect Visiting Artist Lecture: Jane Geiser 12:30PM - 2:00PM SMFA, Room B311 Janie Geiser is an internationally recognized experimental filmmaker and visual/theater artist whose work is known for its sense of mystery, its detailed evocation of self-contained worlds, and its strength of design. Her films are "as extravagantly beautiful as they are difficult, and as allusive as they are elusive" (Cinemascope, Spring 2001). By choosing a medium that is typically associated with wealth and power to portray dystopian scenes of everyday life, Taylor creates a tension between the luxurious connotations of the material and a certain abjectness of the subject matter.
