Kata Hull: BA, Middlebury College, ('74), and the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. Kata has worked in the arts for over 25 years. She is currently a practicing artist, visiting faculty at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and Tufts University; and leads drawing and collage workshops and retreats for individuals and organizations. Kata's work has been exhibited in various juried and invitational shows, including: "A Community of Artists, "juried members' show, Danforth Museum, Framingham, MA, 2009; "Violence Transformed," juried group show at the Resnikoff Gallery, Roxbury Community College, the Massachusetts State House, and Childrens' Hospital, Boston, MA, 2009; "Experiencing the War in Iraq," a juried multi-media show at Machines With Magnets, Pawtucket, RI, 2008; "Finalist, A Politic," juried show at Gallery XIV, Boston, MA, 2008; "Blue," juried show at the Cambridge Art Association, 200607; the Essex Art Center's 13th Annual Juried Show, 2006; "Everything Begins in the Water," a juried group exhibition inaugurating the Mayyim Hayyim Gallery, Newton, MA; the Essex Art Center's 10th Annual Juried Show, Lawrence, where her work received an award from juror Jock Reynolds, director of the Yale University Art Gallery; the N"ational Prize Show, " Cambridge, juried by Lisa Dennison, director of the Guggenheim; "American and European Paintings," Firewall Gallery at Skinner, Boston, curated by Colleene Fesko; and "4 from 11," Brickbottom Gallery, Somerville. Hull has also exhibited in the Bi-Annual 11 Miller Street Open Studios and Somerville Open Studios, Somerville, MA; the Annual Cambridgeport Open Studios, Cambridge, MA; and the Boston Athenaeum. Her work is in corporate and private collections nationwide. She has been the design partner of a silk-screen apparel company, director of graphic design for an architectural firm, an illustrator, and studio manager. She lives near Boston with her husband and two sons.
