Artist Statement
I create things with experimental approach, what if, and less focus on predetermined end product. I often find a new life in my creation then I feel entirely satisfaction.
I use discarded mosaic glass or stained glass because I find them quite appealing. I also find that plastic is seductive. The triangle pendant/brooch is quite surprising result as well as the brooch of black and orange chips.
Vivid color of plastic discs are used more playful way, while square pendant is a magical reflection of light penetrates through pierced silver surface, or reversed side gives a totally different dimensional illusion.
I revisit to my first love of history of Greek art, like Fisherman abundance of fish in his hands, from the wall fresco of Akroteri. I enhance the beauty of Aphrodite with contemporary ornament and fabric of fine silver.
Portrait brooch is made for my friend; a gentle, quiet mood is nicely depicted.
