Cynthia Lin was born in Taiwan, grew up near Chicago, Illinois and currently lives in New York. She was recently awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2006 that enabled her to produce large (4-10 feet) graphite drawings of skin and orifices based on computer scans. These were shown at Michael Steinberg Gallery in New York and will also be at the DeCordova Museum, in Drawn to Detail this fall. Other exhibitions include The Drawing Center, The National Academy of Design, Adam Baumgold Gallery, Art in General, Dorsky Gallery, Bronx River Art Center, Dallas Museum of Art, and Govett-Brewster Art Gallery in New Zealand.
