 Brenda Star (sculpture, Studio at Tufts) earned a MFA ('76) and BFA ('65) from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston/Tufts University. Select solo shows include "New Sculpture," Gallery NAGA, MA ('00) and "Selected Work," The Dean's Gallery, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MA ('97). Group exhibits include "Art Walk: The 1998 Men's Event," Boston ('98); "The Space of Speech: Artists Working the Language/Image Boundary," Boston ('98); "Women Whose Lives Span the Century," Newton, MA ('98); Howard Yezerski Gallery, Boston; Copley Society, Boston; Woodruff Arts Center, Atlanta, GA; Nina Freudenheim Gallery, Buffalo, NY; Brattleboro Museum, Brattleboro, VT; Danforth Museum, Framingham, MA; Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston. Awards: Artist in Residence, Fine Arts Work Center, Provincetown, MA ('99); Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, commissioned 120 edition pieces for benefactors' annual benefit ('91); and Massachusetts Artists Fellowship in Sculpture ('89). Collections include Bank of Boston, the Boston Company, and Fidelity Management. Star has been featured in ARTnews, The Boston Globe, Lincoln Journal, Boston Herald, Art New England, and Worcester Telegram.
