Gerri Rachins received a Master of Fine Arts from Massachusetts College of Art & Design, a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Philadelphia College of Art and also studied at the New York Studio School. Her drawings, paintings, installations and prints have been exhibited in numerous group exhibitions in major U.S. cities, including Boston, New York, Chicago and Baltimore. She was included in the most recent I-95 Triennial 2013: From Connecticut to Maine, an exhibition at the University of Maine Museum of Art that occurs every three years and features a survey of the finest contemporary artists working in five New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

Rachins has had three solo exhibitions in the Boston area, where she currently resides and teaches at the School of The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She has also taught courses at New England School of Art & Design/Suffolk University, the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA, and The M.H. de Young Museum in San Francisco, CA. She has been a Visiting Artist at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, a Cultural Agenda Fund Panelist for the City of Boston, a Program Coordinator for the Boston Mayor's Youth Arts Corps and was nominated for a Saint Botolph Club Foundation 2013 Emerging Artist Award.

Collections include: Fidelity Investments; Bain Capital; Dana Farber Cancer Institute; the Faulkner Hospital; Neiman Marcus Corporate Collection; the Kamm Collection; Berkshire Partners and numerous private collections.
