Richard Spartos (crosscurrents) currently resides in Poland. With a concentration in sound and video art, he received his BFA from Hampshire College ('02) and earned an MFA from SMFA/Tufts University ('08), with a concentration in performance. He has exhibited drawing, sculpture, installation, and performance in the US, the UK, Germany, Poland, and Belarus. He is a member of the International Performance Association, Hildesheim, a founding member and organizer of the International Performance Association, Boston and an active participant in the realization and implementation of the Homestead, AK. He also authors a blog, which highlights his experiences making art abroad. Richard's work focuses on the common attributes of audience and artist, as well as visceral, dissident, and primal qualities of object, sound, and space.
