Hannah Barrett's work explores the figure with a contemporary approach. Barrett received a BA from Wellesley College ('89), a Diploma from the Museum School ('92), and an MFA from Boston University ('98). She has won numerous awards, including a Traveling Scholarship Award through the Museum School, and had her paintings shown in "SMFA Traveling Scholars" at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston ('06). She has had solo shows in Boston at the Howard Yezerski Gallery ('07, '06) and Clifford-Smith Gallery ('03). Barrett is the recipient of an Artadia award ('07) and has work in the permanent collection of the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, Lincoln, Mass. Barrett has taught at The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University, Boston College, and the College of Fine Art at Boston University.
Hannah currently teaches at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, and will have a show starting in April and running through December at the Gibson House Museum on Beacon Street in Boston's Back Bay. Hannah will also be included in the "Women to Watch" series at the Museum of Women's Art in Washington DC. in July.
