Born in Bristol, Rhode Island, Kendall Reiss grew up exploring Narragansett Bay and Poppasquash point. She attended Dickinson College, where she received a BS in Geology, which provided the visual training and hands-on approach that she now applies to her career as a contemporary art jeweler. After several years of studying at various institutions including the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Kendall returned to school to combine her love of place and her love of jewelry. In 2011, she received an MFA with honors in Jewelry + Metalsmithing from the Rhode Island School of Design. Kendall's work focuses on the formation of identity and personal history through the process of making. Her interests range from the poetic to the bold, the corporeal to the inanimate. She is currently based out of Providence, Rhode Island where she maintains a studio and Newport, Rhode Island where she helps to run Alloy Gallery.
