Julie Miller's work engages the physical intensity of optical and perceptual trance-like states induced by imagery. Her experimental animations effect perceptual states through the overload of psychedelic imagery, while her drawings facilitate a hallucinatory sensibility through color and detail that brings the viewer close to the work. Exhibitions include Steven Zevitas Gallery, University of Maine Museum of Art, Mike's Museum, and DeCordova Museum. Her work is in private and public collections including Neiman Marcus and Progressive Corporation and has been written about in the Boston Globe, Two Coats of Paint and the Phoenix. Miller received her MFA from School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
