Mara Metcalf (drawing) is an associate faculty member at the Museum School, where she teaches Figuremania and Mixed Media. Metcalf also has taught portrait, object, and abstract drawing, as well as anatomy and perspective, and her experience includes critique of artworks that combine multiple disciplines and expressive potential. She has been exhibiting professionally since completing a BFA in painting at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) ('80) and a MFA from the Museum School/Tufts University ('88). Metcalf is represented by Lenore Gray Gallery in Rhode Island and Spheris Gallery, Bellows Falls, Vermont shows some of her works on paper. Her work recently has been exhibited at the South County Art Association Invitational, Kensington, R.I., featuring five Rhode Island artists ('06); Bristol Art Museum, Bristol, R.I. ('06); Lenore Gray Gallery, Providence, R.I. ('05, '03); Mount Ida College, Newton, Mass. ('02); Wheeler Gallery, Providence, R.I. ('00); and Montserrat College of Art, Beverly, Mass. ('00). Her artwork is included in the RISD Museum, Providence, R.I.; Ritz Carlton Hotel, Washington, D.C.; and private collections.
