Helen Cantrell is launching a new modern art venue, gallery19, with art partner Judy Friday in Essex, CT. Opening is October 13 from 3-5 pm, catered by chef Amanda Cushman. Initially the gallery will feature Cantrell and Friday's abstract and expressionist paintings and works on paper, but will be adding other contemporary artists soon who share their classic modernist viewpoint (think inspiration by Diebenkorn, Joan Mitchell). Wilson Parry, Diploma '06

Wilson Parry received his MFA in Fine Arts from Parsons the New School this past May, and was awarded an MFA residency at Ox-bow School of Art in Saugatuck, Michigan this past summer, where he began a new body of work on objects that cause cancer. Next month, Parry be in the show "Off the Wall" at the Affordable Art Fair (NYC) which is showcasing emerging graduate students' work from the NYC Metropolitan area, highlighting recent graduates from the last three years.
