Laura Fischman, a student in the MFA program at SMFA, presents her new paintings in (im)permeable at the Elizabeth A. Beland Gallery at Essex Art Center October 26—November 30, 2012. The opening reception on Friday, October 26 features a talk by Fischman. The show presents her psychological, physical and metaphorical investigation of skin through works including: Morphology and Attack from Within. Fischman's paintings fall somewhere between landscape and the figure as they explore the "thin border between the internal and external world."
