Bonaiuto presents her soft sculpture, paintings and animated video installations in "Puppet Guise," a solo exhibition at Gallery 263 (Cambridge, MA) October 25-December 2, 2012. "Puppet Guise" challenges fictional bodies to perform impossibly life-like tasks. In paintings as well as animations, these characters are perpetually unable to fulfill their desires and continuously fall short of their goals. The instinctual denial of age, death and love becomes the drive behind the superfluous and often heartbreaking quality of their actions.
