Molly Segal's paintings explore the psychological ambiguities of interactions between young women as they navigate a sometimes dangerous world. In "If You Jump, I'll Jump" Segal uses her personal experiences to investigate ideas about friendship, intimacy, desire, fear and recklessness.
Segal is a painter from Oakland, CA. She received her BFA from the California College of the Arts in 2006 and moved to Boston to pursue her MFA in 2011. Her recent solo show in California, "Little Wild Things," showcased the watercolors she produced her first year at SMFA. She is currently exhibiting in "Students Curate Students: Liking Is For Cowards. Go For What Hurts" at the Museum Of Fine Arts, Boston March 9August 18, 2013.
