Karmimadeebora McMillan explores many different scenarios involving black characters from the south and reinventing environments to place these characters in. American painter Jacob Lawrence wrote, "A man's struggle is a very beautiful thing...the struggle that we go through as human beings enables us to develop to take on further dimension."
Understanding this statement is what she strives for in creating her work; the struggle is hard, yet we carry on.
