2013 Will and Elena Barnet Painting Award In recognition of his excellent work, the 2013 Will and Elena Barnet Painting Award was awarded to Ryan Hawk, a BFA student, for his performance Balance. His work will be included in this year's "Graduating Students and Award Recipients Exhibition" on view April 16–May 18, 2013. An excerpted video of his whole performance is available online.

The Will and Elena Barnet Painting Award is an annual prize given to a student whose paintings "embody the formal elements of painting, composition and the principles of structural design." All full-time enrolled Museum School students are eligible, and the prize is awarded each spring by an outside jury. This year's jury included Kathleen Bitetti, artist, public policy expert and curator/arts administrator; Sheila Gallagher, artist and Assistant Professor at Boston College; and Anna Katsnelson, Assistant Professor at Princeton University.
