Makin has been made a board member of the Portrait Society of Canada and is exhibiting at their 2010 spring show, "Canadian Olympic Athletes, A Dialogue In Art." Her portraiture of Nathalie Lambert, head of the Canadian Olympic team for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, is part of the show.
She also just completed a triptych of Alex Baumann, Chief Technical Officer of Canada's Own the Podium initiative, Olympic gold medalist and world-record setting swimmer.
