Parkins (NYC-based sound/installation artist, composer and interactive electronics performer) was the subject of an article by David Stubbs in the August 2009 issue of The Wire. Also in 2009, Important Records released Andrea's most recent CD (broken orbit), a through-composed work for amplified objects, acccordion-driven feedback and processed instruments, based on Andrea's site-specific 10-channel installation commissioned by NYC's Diapason gallery for sound. She was also commissioned in 2009 to compose a live score and create sound design for "We Are Going to Miss Everything We Don't Need" by award-winning Portuguese choreographer Vera Mantero. The work premiered in France in July 2009 at the international contemporary dance festival, MontpellierDanse.
