Alumnus Omer Fast Winner of 2009 Nationalgalerie Prize Congratulations to alumnus Omer Fast (CD '95) who was recently named winner of the Nationalgalerie Prize for Young Art, which recognizes a rising artist based in Germany. Established in 2000 by the Verein der Freunde der Nationalgalerie (Friends of the National Gallery), the prize was created in response to the emergence of a new, young arts and cultural scene in Berlin. With a prize of 50,000, it is one of the most generous awards for contemporary art in Germany.

Four finalists–Keren Cytter, Fast, Annette Kelm and Danh Vo–were selected by a first-round jury; Fast was named the winner by a second independent jury on September 22. All finalists will exhibit at the Hamburger Bahnhof, Museum for Contemporary Art, September 11, 2009–January 3, 2010.
