Richardson is showing recent systematic paintings at the Gallery at Gibbs Library (Washington) July 8 September 1. Richardson, known also as a musician and composer in the midcoast area, was twice Artist in Residence at the Robert M. MacNamara Artist Residency Program on Westport Island. His work was selected for the 2008 Biennial Show at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art and has recently been shown at the Aarhus Gallery in Belfast. The concepts behind this work, with roots dating back to graduate school at the University of Hartford, were revisited by Richardson during the MacNamara residency and vigorously pursued in his studio during the past three years. A public reception for the artist will be Friday, July 9, 57 pm.
