SMFA Students Exhibiting at Hunt Memorial Library On view December 2, 2010–February 28, 2011, "Parallel Archive" is the eleventh exhibition of SMFA student work at the William Morris Hunt Memorial Library. Join us for the opening reception December 2, 5:30–7 pm.

Organized and curated by students Laura Ahking (BFA) and Chris Ford (MFA), the exhibition explores the idea that works of art are often participants in the definition of a space, such as how a painting can be enhanced, diminished or redefined by the wall it is hanging on. The library is a place of refuge, research and labor. The works exhibited here react or riff off of this space and incorporate elements from parts of the space that might not be seen or known to exist. You may pass by works several times without noticing them. Our hope is that upon notice, these pieces will allow you to re-see the space.

Artists: Laura Ahking, Amanda Bonaiuto, Jesse Collins, Chris Ford, John Gonzalez, Alaina Gurdak, Allison Hale, Joo Lee Kang, Anthony Montuori, Amelia Smith, Johanna Tam, Cindy Tsai and Scott Winther.
