Congratulations to BFA student Chelsea Coon who has been named the 2011 recipient of the Eugene C. Ward Scholarship Award. Chelsea will receive funds to be applied toward her tuition expenses for the 2011-12 academic year.
The Eugene C. Ward Memorial Scholarship Fund was initiated 19 years ago in order to commemorate Mr. Ward, former dean of Admissions, whose nurturing spirit is remembered by numerous SMFA alumni, faculty and staff. The award is intended as an incentive grant to encourage deserving students—those who show commitment to the learning process, have artistic promise and exhibit personal discipline—to continue their studies at the Museum School.
