"Karyn Olivier is a conceptual artist who creates site-specific installations employing space itself as the ultimate medium. Her work, which draws from cultural and social memory, uses minimalist language in its construction, providing the viewer with a direct and intimate interaction.
Whispering Domes (2001) is constructed from sheetrock and two circular skylights. The cylinders create a low-tech parabolic chamber, which enables viewers to amplify their voices architecturally."
