
SMFA faculty Nate Harrison was one of three finalists in the inaugural Art&Education Papers Prize, which is a biannual prize awarded to emerging scholars from around the world conducting research in contemporary art history. "I was very honored to be given the opportunity to present my research at the Art Papers symposium," says Harrison. His text, The Pictures Generation, the Copyright Act of 1976, and the Reassertion of Authorship in Postmodernity, was selected from over 200 submissions from around the world.
The members of the prestigious Art Papers jury were: Daniel Birnbaum, Director, Moderna Museet; Claire Bishop, Associate Professor of Art History, The Graduate Center, CUNY; Tim Griffin, Director and Chief Curator, The Kitchen; Suzanne Hudson, Co-founder and President of the Society of Contemporary Art Historians; Molly Nesbit, Professor Art History, Vassar College; Brian Kuan Wood, Editor, e-flux journal.
