Since 1876, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston has been educating artists by providing the respect, learning opportunities, and unique level of freedom that students need to develop and succeed.

Each of our programs has its own emphasis, but each resounds with the intensity that comes from the exploration of ideas by a community of nearly 1,000 artists.

MAT in Art Education

SMFA also offers Continuing Education programs for fall, spring, and summer sessions, including certificates in Graphic Design and Illustration.

For high school students interested in studying art before college, SMFA offers a Pre-College Summer Studio for students 16 years or older.
