This fall we brought back Proof of Purchase, a unique art sale and fundraiser, generously hosted this year by Samsøn in the South End. Buyers hunted through hundreds of original works by artists and Boston personalities, each for sale at the bargain price of $50. The twist? They didn't know the identity of the artist until they made a purchase. With all the art priced ($50) and sized (4x6 inches) the same, there was just as much of a chance of scoring a piece by a famous artist or local personality as a first year art student. The event offered the opportunity to support art education while participating in a fun, energetic art buying experience. Works were donated by participants, so all proceeds directly benefited SMFA students through scholarship funds. Spending $50 was never so fun!
