Important Dates
Mid-June 2013: First round housing assignment information for academic year is expected to be emailed to students with housing contracts that will have to be signed and returned via snail mail by no later than June 30, 2013 to secure housing assign-ment. Waiting list notification to students without housing assignments will be sent by late June 2013.

Ongoing: Room assignments are made on a rolling basis as cancellations and other changes occur. Students on the waitlist are notified via email if a space becomes available and are expected to respond within 48 hours of receipt of information.

Eligibility for On-Campus Housing
All full-time first year students are eligible to apply for on-campus housing. Please be advised that SMFA has a very limited number of spaces available and first year students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Students who live in on-campus housing are also required to enroll in one of the three meals plans offered. Meal plan fees are placed on student bills.

Assignment Process

SMFA houses new students in doubles and triples. The first round of housing assignments for first year students is completed in mid-June and notification of assignments is expected to be sent via email during this time. Assignments are based on room availability. The Office of Student Affairs makes every effort to accommodate the desires of students, but cannot guarantee that students will receive their top choices in the assignment process. Please be advised that space priority (not type) is typically given to students whose current address is farthest from campus (e.g. international students and domestic students residing on the West Coast).
