Please note:

• If Day classes are cancelled, Continuing Education classes and evening events also will be cancelled.
• If the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), is open, all administrative offices will be open and staffed, even if classes are not being held. 

• If the MFA is closed, there will be no access to any SMFA buildings or facilities.

To learn if classes are cancelled with SMFA buildings remaining open, you can:

• Visit our home page and check the calendar section ("Buildings Open" will be indicated)
• Check a local media outlet. We are listed as Museum School on:
  • WBZ Radio – 1030 AM
  • WBZ Channel 4, WCVB Channel 5, or WHDH Channel 7 (TV or Web – click on 'Storm Closings')
• Call our storm line at 617-369-3900 and check the recorded message.

The decision to close will be made prior to 6:15 am for an all day closing, by 12 pm for an afternoon closing, and by 3:15 pm for cancellation of evening classes and events.

Classes are cancelled and the buildings are closed:
If the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, is closed, all SMFA buildings will be closed to students, faculty and staff (except for essential personnel). For safety reasons, there are no exceptions to this rule.  To find out if the buildings are closed, you can:

• Check a local media outlet. Both the SMFA (listed as Museum School) and the MFA (listed as Museum of Fine Arts, Boston) will be listed on:
