Alumnus Omer Fast Named Winner of 2008 Bucksbaum Award
May 28, 2008

Congratulations to Omer Fast (CD '95) who was recently named the 2008 Bucksbaum Award recipient by the Whitney Museum of American Art. This prestigious award recognizes an artist from the Whitney Biennial whose work demonstrates a singular combination of talent and imagination. Fast was selected from among the 81 artists participating in the 2008 exhibition, which is on view through June 1.

Established in 2000 by Whitney Trustee Melva Bucksbaum and her family, the award is presented every two years. Each Bucksbaum honoree receives a $100,000 grant and is invited to present a solo exhibition at the Whitney within the next two years. Past recipients are Paul Pfeiffer (2000), Irit Batsry (2002), Raymond Pettibon (2004), and Mark Bradford (2006).
