SMFA photography faculty member
Roswell Angier recently published a new book titled Train Your Gaze: A Practical and Theoretical
Introduction to Portrait Photography (AVA Publishing, 2007). The book offers a comprehensive and engaging course in portrait
photography. Its unique theoretical and practical text is illustrated with work
by some of the world’s most influential photographers and
artists.
Angier was educated at
Harvard University and University of California, Berkeley. Other books include A Kind of Life: Conversations in the Combat
Zone (Addison House, NH, 1976). His work is in the collections of the
Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Fogg Museum, Cambridge, MA.
