The Arts in Boston

Boston is an old American city, founded in 1630 and defined by a rich political, social, and cultural history. The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, is part of that history. To the right are links to some other well-established groups and institutions.

In addition to well-established cultural institutions, Boston is home to a thriving working artists’ community with many galleries and alternative venues that showcase SMFA students and alumni.
